Best Albums of 2007 Eagles - Long Road Out of Eden - Rock - Great, Great Album from one of America's greatest rock bands. Bad news - you can only buy this CD at Walmart, good news - 2 disc set for $11.87. Best Album of the Year! Joan Osborne - Breakfast in Bed - R&B - Joan covers R&B hits of the 70's. Subdudes - Street Symphony - Rock - one of my favorite bands releases yet another fine album. Think Eagles with some Nevilles mixed in - not to be missed. Teresa James and the Rhythm Tramps Bottom Line Blues - Blues band with horns, great female singer, this I found by accident on Itunes, what a joy. Suzanne Vega - Beauty and Crime Rock/Folk - One of our more literate songwriters releases her first album in several years, was it worth the wait you betcha! Stefan Karlson The road not taken Jazz One of the better releases in jazz this year, just straight ahead stuff that sounds so good. Robben Ford Truth Blues Robbens guitar playing is always good, on this outing, the songs even match the quality of the playing. Minne Driver Seastories Female Vocals Minnie Driver sings? I was totally shocked to find out how much I like this CD. Michael McDermott Noise From Words Rock McDermott delivers another fine outing in the Rock-Singer-Songwriter Genre. Lauren White At Last Female Vocal New discovery this year, what an absolute delight. Joel Frahm We used to Dance Jazz sensational sax player with a nice contingent of players surrounding him. Hamilton Loomis Aint Just

who Glenn Gould Goldberg Variations Zenph Reperformance Classical The Goldberg Variations were recorded in the 50s, always considered a masterpiece. This recording is a computer that listened to the original recording and duplicated the playing of Gould in the 21st century. The sound quality is excellent the performance is Glen Gould. Doug Mcleod A Little Sin Blues/Folk white acoustic blues singer who just gets under your skin. Allison Krauss 100 Miles or More Country/Bluegrass She sings like an angel and once again releases an album of quality all around. Jimmy LaFave - Cimarron Manifesto - Texas - One of my favorites returns with one of his strongest. Joshua Redman - Back East - Jazz - Sax player at this everlovin' best. Michael Buble - Call Me Irresponsible - Buble mixes it up on this one, this man is a great talent (even if he does sound like Sinatra). Ryan Shaw - This is Ryan Shaw - R&B - When you listen to this LP, you think it is 1970 all over again. Till Bronner - Oceana - Jazz - Jazz sax at it's sultry best. Ruthie Foster - R&B/Blues/gospel - I basically went on Itunes and picked my favorites, this woman can wail. Donovan Frankenreiter - Live at Abbey Road - Rock - one of my favorite LPs of the year. Anat Cohen - Noir - Jazz - Female horn player who is sweet and soulful. ALO - Roses and Clover - Rock - great sound, very reminiscent of Steely Dan. John Mellancamp - Freedom's Road -Rock - John is back with one of his better albums in years. Lucinda Williams - West - Country/Rock - best Lucinda Williams outing since "Car Wheels on a Gravel Road". Mary Chapin Carpenter - The Calling - Folk - One of our best literary song writer/singers returns with a strong LP of well crafted tunes. Tommy Castro - Live at the Fillmore - Although recorded earlier, I just discovered this. If you like Delbert McClinton, you will love this live blues LP. Norah Jones - Not Too Late - Female Vocals - Probably this century's first superstar releases another superb album. Patty Griffin - Children Running Through - Folk - This maybe the best release of the year so far - not to be missed. Yo-Yo-Ma - Appassionato - Classical - Cellist continues to astound with his choice of recordings. Classical purists normally do not like this. Han-Na Chang - Romance - Classical - Best LP from this cellist since "The Swan". Robert Plant & Alison Krauss - Raising Sand - Pop - Led Zeppelin meets Miss Bluegrass - Heavenly Matt Schofield Trio - Ear to the Ground - Blues - Superb blues guitar with organ, great band, not to be missed. Lyle Lovett - It's Not Big, It's Large - Country - Lyle and the Large Band are back - this one is for Lovett fans. Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds - Playlist - R&B - Babyface covers lots of familiar songs and creates a great American current pop songbook - the ladies love this one. Judith Owen - Happy this Way - Pop - This female singer reminds a little bit of Suzanne Vega, interesting lyrics wrapped around complicated melodies. Frankie Valli - Romancing the 60's - Pop - Take advantage of the Jersey Boys, Frankie covers familiar songs, some work, some don't. Dion - Son of Skip James - Blues - Dion follows up his great CD of last year, he plays the acoustic blues and you tap your toes and like it. Boys II Men - Motown, A Journey - R&B - The Boys cover the Motown classics, some work well and some just ok. Betty Lavette - The Scene of the Crime - Blues - Betty returns with a better outing than her comeback last year.
